May is National Burger Month in the United States. Don’t ask us why, but it is. We’ve been looking for a reason to take a look at the top burger joints in Las Vegas and now we’ve finally got one! Sure, it’s always a matter of taste with any “Top” List, but these Top 5 Burger Joints in Las Vegas are sure to cover a wide range of tastes and at least one is sure to please even the most demanding palette!

#5 Top Burger Joint in Vegas – In-N-Out Burger (9 locations)

Okay, it’s a chain. But since Vegas doesn’t have a White Castle (yet!) it’s the best chain on the market and with a North Strip location on Sahara Avenue, a South Strip location on Dean Martin and a location on Maryland Parkway next to UNLV, it’s never far to grab a quality burger, crispy fries and a Coke for under ten bucks before heading back to the poker room of your choice. #4 Top Burger Joint in Vegas – HEART ATTACK GRILL, 450 Fremont Street, downtown Las Vegas

With their slogan “Fight Anorexia!”, emergency room decor and menu items such as the “Quadruple Bypass Burger” and “Flatliner Fries” you pretty much can guess what to expect at this burger joint. It’s unapologetic and definitely not for the faint of heart! The restaurant’s history is colorful and already this year two people, on two separate occasions, have made national news headlines by collapsing in the restaurant after attempting to finish their meals. I recommend trying the Single Bypass Burger first. It’s daunting for newbies and if you can’t quite finish it there’s no shame in pointing across the restaurant to cause a diversion while you jump shot the last bit into the trash. At least you’ll live to walk out of the place and tell your tale of survival! Plus, if the burgers don’t make your heart skip a beat or two, the waitresses dressed in provocative nurses uniforms surely will.

#3 Top Burger Joint in Vegas – SMITH & WOLLENSKY’S, directly across from City Centre and the Monte Carlo Resort

Smith and Wollensky’s is known for their mouth-watering, cooked to order steaks all over the counry. So isn’t it reasonable that one of the top steakhouses in Las Vegas is also home to one of the best hamburgers in town? You really can’t go wrong here and the location right across from City Centre and the Monte Carlo can’t be beat. This is one of those very rare places on the Strip that even locals go to eat and people watch! Check out their menu here. If you’ve heard it’s expensive, you might be surprised at its affordability compared to many other restaurants in the area.

#2 Top Burger Joint in Vegas – The PEPPERMILL RESTAURANT, just north of the Wynn Resort

The Peppermill is open 24/7 and is not only a favorite hang-out for locals and off-duty strip/night club workers, it offers a great menu that includes a delicious variety of 1/2 pound burgers, awesome mac’n cheese, tasty salads for the diet conscious and some of the best people watching in town. In addition to a full bar in the restaurant, the fun and sexy Fireside Lounge is one of the best places to rest tired feet in Las Vegas. Holly Madison frequently films episodes of her show here for a reason, baby!

#1 Top Burger Joint in Vegas – BURGER BAR, MANDALAY BAY RESORT

A few years ago, a good friend and long-time local wanted to celebrate her birthday with a decadent burger and shake. She chose Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay Resort and I must say she chose the best! It was my first time to the Burger Bar and I was not disappointed by high expectations. Created by Hubert Keller of Fleur de Lys, the top shelf ingredients and assortment of delicious buns makes this a must-try for anyone who likes to build his or her ultimate burger from the bun up. My shiitake mushroom, feta cheese, red onion and tomato, kobi beef burger on a sesame garlic bun positively melted in my mouth and I’ve been back countless times to indulge in decadent variations! Whether you’ve hit it big at the craps table and feel like throwing on foie gras or black truffles, or whether you’re looking for a fun and affordable casual dining experience on the Strip, Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay is the #1 stop in Vegas for delicious, custom-built burgers!
